We Measure from the HEART

Reflect on the idea that tests are the only objective assessments of student learning...
As I reflect on this opinion statement, I expand my thoughts and thinking into countless questions, such as...
  1. How do we measure Student Achievement?
  2. Where does Student Achievement come from?
  3. Do tests determine the amount of knowledge and learning a student has?
  4. Is it this statement that drove the creators of the No Child Left Behind Act?
  5. Can we rely on tests alone to measure student learning?
  6. How do educators present "tests" to students?
I can go into circles, squares, triangles, and a whole load of shapes of questions, yet this won't support the statement that "tests are the only objective assessments of student learning." We learn in the Art of Teaching Education, that every child is unique, special, and ORIGINAL, that there is no other like them in the World and Universe. Therefore, there is not only objective and assessment that can justify their learning and them. We measure their learning first from their HEART... It's in their efforts, dedication, and determination, that we begin to see their Commitment to pursuing to become Life-Long Learners : )
